Practice Manager

 

Laura Practice Manager

LAURA

 

Laura joined Monroe Animal Care Hospital in 2023 as the practice manager. Laura began her career in veterinary medicine in 1990 then went on to pursue human medicine in 2004. Her compassion and love for animals led her back to veterinary medicine in 2020. Laura grew up in Blairsville, GA on a small farm surrounded by horses, cows, goats, dogs, cats, and many other furry friends. After meeting her husband Andy in 1998 she moved to Monroe and started a family. Laura has three amazing children, Megan, Matthew and Mallory and is a proud grandmother to Ellie, Ben, and Drew. Laura is a “Dog Mom” and has a handsome Labrador Retriever, Otis. In her free time she enjoys traveling with her husband, spending time with family and watching her beloved Buffalo Bills. (Go Bills!)

JODI SULLIVAN, FFCP (veterinary)

JODI

 

Jodi has been an integral part of Monroe Animal Care Hospital since 2005. She brings expertise and dedication to her role and ensures the smooth operation of our hospital by maintaining impeccable organization and  managing reception and record- keeping with ease. At home, Jodi shares her life with her husband and two cherished cats, Oscar and PK. Fun fact: Oscar is the littermate of our very own clinic cat, Calvin! Outside of work, Jodi enjoys cheering on her favorite hockey team (Go Lightning!) and spending quality time with her family.

AMY

 

Amy has been a cherished member of the Monroe Animal Care Hospital team since 2013, taking a brief three-year break before returning in November 2024. With experience as both a customer care representative and veterinary assistant, Amy is dedicated to providing compassionate care and support. A true animal lover and advocate, she shares her home with four dogs—Maverick, Oakley, Roman, and Patrick—and two cats, Pearl and Ruby.

JESSICA

 

Jessica joined the reception team at Monroe Animal Care Hospital in 2024. She comes with experience in veterinary medicine and loves working with clients to get the best care for their pets. Originally from Virginia, Jessica moved to Georgia in 2006. She is currently attending Georgia State University to obtain her bachelor's degree in Sociology. In her spare time, she likes to spend time with her husband, her two dogs, Jordan and Pipsqueak, and her three cats, Max, Cicero and Eevee. Jessica enjoys traveling, playing games, and watching movies.

Jennifer, a Cincinnati, Ohio native moved to Georgia in 2018. She and her husband, Ben, now reside in Loganville. Jennifer has 2 children, Kamryn and Amanda from a previous marriage and 2 step-children, Chance and Addison. Her family shares their home with 7 cats and 2 dogs. In her free time, she enjoys travelling and going antique shopping.

Jennifer (Jen) joined Monroe Animal Care Hospital in 2020.  She is from Decatur, GA but now resides in Good Hope with her family.  Jen has always enjoyed the unconditional love of animals.  Her first pet was a turtle but now has a sweet lab named Jake.   Jennifer is married to Sean, and they have two boys, Jamison and Levi.  While not at work Jennifer enjoys the outdoors, small getaways, and homesteading with her family.

MEGHAN DOUGLAS, RVT, FFCP (veterinary)

MEGHAN, LVT

 

Meghan joined our team in 2018 as a licensed veterinary technician. With a degree in veterinary technology, she continually enhances her skills through ongoing education. Passionate about providing low- stress care for all our patients, Meghan excels in dentistry, radiography, venipuncture, as well as many other medical procedures. A cat lady first and a dog lover second, Meghan lives with her husband, Branson, their two sons, and their four senior cats: Cuddles, Snuggles, Blue, and Blackie. Outside of work, she enjoys playing both video and board games with friends and family. She also dedicates her time to volunteering at spay and neuter clinics, both locally, and abroad, serving her community with compassion.

MARY

 

Mary has been a valued member of the Monroe Animal Care Hospital team since 2003. Her deep love for animals and dedication to their care led her to pursue a career in the veterinary field. Mary excels in every role she takes on at the hospital, whether it's coaxing a sick patient to eat, assisting with surgery, or comforting a client. Her versatility makes her an invaluable part of the team, but it's her kind and gentle nature that truly sets her apart. Mary and her husband, Ben, have three wonderful daughters: Raegan, Aubreigh, and Ryann. They share their home with four dogs and one cat.

KEYLEE THOMAS, CVA, FFCP (veterinary)

KEYLEE, CVA

 

Keylee has been a dedicated member of the veterinary field since 2015 and joined Monroe Animal Care Hospital in March 2020. Currently enrolled at San Juan College, she is pursuing a degree in veterinary technology to become a licensed veterinary technician. Keylee is passionate about providing low-stress care to all of our patients. Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with her family, husband, and friends, and loves outdoor activities such as hunting, fishing, and playing with her dogs. She shares her home with her husband, Hunter, their 2 dogs - Koda, a hound mix, and Gus, a German Shorthaired Pointer - as well as their three cats: Sully, Cheeto, and Felix.

DESIREE ABRAHAM

Desiree has had a lifelong passion for animals, and we were thrilled to welcome her to the Monroe Animal Care Hospital team in June 2022. As a certified veterinary assistant, she continually strives to expand her knowledge and skills to better serve both her patients and their owners. Before joining our team, Desiree proudly served in the U.S. Air Force for eight years and was happy to return to her home state of Georgia after completing her service. In her free time, she loves spending time with her Papillon mix, Kimchi.

SYDNEY, CVA

 

Sydney joined the Monroe Animal Care Hospital team in 2023 and is a Certified Veterinary Assistant. A Monroe, Georgia native, Sydney has always had a deep love for animals, both large and small. She and her husband are busy parents to one energetic little boy, Cash, and three beloved pets: Sadie, Bella, and Penny. When she's not juggling her lively household, Sydney enjoys spending time outdoors, fishing, thrifting, and exploring antique stores. At work, she excels in assisting with surgeries and brings a calm, compassionate presence to both clients and their pets in the exam room.

Kaitlin joined Monroe Animal Care Hospital in 2023 after spending several years in human medicine. Her passion for animals led her to make the switch to veterinary medicine, and she spent three years as a veterinary assistant before joining our team. Kaitlin has a deep love for cats - so much so that she would adopt them all if she could! Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with family and friends, homesteading, and playing video games.

Rebecca joined Monroe Animal Care Hospital in September 2021. She came to us with a lifelong passion for animals, especially dogs. She enjoys spending her time outside of work volunteering with Pound Puppies and Kittens Rescue. She fosters many dogs and especially loves working with the young puppies. Rebecca is Mom to two adult children and five dogs - Cooper, Oliver, Max, Sneakers, and Phoebe. Sneakers rides the roads traveling with Rebecca's husband who is a professional truck driver while Phoebe is a certified service dog who attends college full-time with Rebecca's daughter.

MELODY

 

Melody began working at Monroe Animal Care Hospital in 2024, bringing over five years of experience in the veterinary field. She also proudly served in the Army for eight years as an ammunition specialist. She has developed a deep passion for caring for animals of all shapes and sizes.  Her love extends beyond her work - at home she is the proud parent of a 12-year-old dog named Chewie, a playful pup named Rex, and three lively cats: Mari, Ember, and Moxie. Melody believes in providing compassionate, dedicated care to every animal by ensuring each patient receives the attention and treatment they deserve.

Megan

MEGAN

 

A lifelong resident of Monroe, Megan has been a valued part of our team since 2011. She is a proud pet parent to five Dachshunds, a Labrador Retriever, and a Betta fish. Outside of work, Megan stays active with a love for working out, running, hiking, and hunting.  Recently, she reached an impressive milestone by completing her first marathon in Savannah alongside her sister. During the week, Megan works with her mother in the family cleaning business. We are fortunate to have her bring her knowledge, dedication, and energy to the hospital a few Saturday's each month, where she continues to make a positive impact on our team.

Mallory has been a valued member of our team since the winter of 2022, when she joined us as a senior at Loganville High School. Currently, she is pursuing her studies at the University of Georgia with aspirations to attend the UGA College of Veterinary Medicine. Known for her conscientiousness and compassion, Mallory is dedicated to providing excellent care.

Nia, a Snellville, Georgia native, joined our hospital in 2021. A recent graduate of  the University of Georgia, she is currently gaining valuable experience in animal care at the Emory National Primate Research Center in Atlanta as she prepares to apply to veterinary school. Nia has always had a deep love for animals, especially dogs, and is passionate about helping them in every way possible. In her free time, Nia enjoys spending time with friends, shopping, and making memories with her family. At home, she shares her life with two beloved Havanese dogs, Kobe and Mello.

Julianna joined Monroe Animal Care Hospital in 2023 as a receptionist but can also be seen helping in the kennel. A Monroe native, she has always loved growing up here. Julianna adores animals of all sizes and has had a passion for them since she was a child. She graduated from Monroe Area High School, where she was an active member of the marching and concert bands. After graduation, Julianna worked at the Humane Society of Morgan County and The Rescue Ranch from 2016-2019. In 2019, she became a jailer for Oglethorpe and Oconee County, but eventually followed her true love for animals back to Monroe Animal Care Hospital. In her spare time, she enjoys painting, baking, spending time with family, and of course, gaming. Julianna shares her home with a dog named Nala, and 4 cats: Oliver, Orion, Leo, and Bayley!

A current senior at Walnut Grove High School, Katie joined our team in the fall of 2023. She is pursuing her career ambition of becoming a large and small animal veterinarian who owns her own practice. She began her own small goat farm where she both breeds and shows her goats. Katie is an active 4-H and FFA member and placed in the top 30 at the 2023 FFA State Competition in the Veterinary Science Career Development Event. She is looking forward to gaining valuable veterinary experience at Monroe Animal Care Hospital.

LEAH

 

Leah is a senior at Monroe Area High School and joined the team in 2023.  A lifelong resident of Monroe, she works as a kennel assistant, gaining valuable work experience and honing her skills in animal care.  While this is Leah's first job and she enjoys working with animals, her long-term goal is to pursue a career in mechanics.  She appreciates the supportive team environment at Monroe Animal Care Hospital and the meaningful experiences it provides.

In her free time, Leah enjoys reading mystery novels and spending quality time with her dog, Donatello.

Calvin has been part of our hospital family since he was just a couple of weeks old in 2015. Full of energy and enthusiasm, he keeps everyone entertained with his playful antics and mischievous behavior. Though he is on a constant diet, it doesn't slow him down! Calvin brings joy to our hospital every day, and we wouldn't have it any other way.
