Meet The Team

Practice Manager

KRIS JAY

Kris joined our team in 2021 with a long career in the veterinary medicine. After early years serving as a veterinary assistant, she made the transition to administration over 15 years ago and considers practice management as her true calling in life. Kris attended UGA to study Animal Science and has loved the Athens/Monroe area ever since and is delighted to finally be living and working in Monroe after years of being away. She lives with 5 cats, 2 dogs, and a tortoise. Kris will always be happy to assist you in any way and looks forward to serving you and your family.

Veterinary Technicians and Assistants

MEGHAN DOUGLAS, RVT

Meghan joined us in 2018 as a Registered Veterinary Technician. She has a degree in Veterinary Technology, and regularly completes continuing education courses. She is passionate about providing low-stress care through gentle handling techniques and positive reinforcement. Meghan is proudly a cat lady first, and dog lady second. She lives with her husband, Branson, and her senior kitties, Cuddles and Snuggles. She often finds herself volunteering her time at spay/neuter clinics, both locally and abroad.

MARY CORNELIUS

Mary joined the Monroe Animal Care team in 2003. Her love of animals made it clear she wanted to pursue a career in the animal field. After her many years of experience with us, Mary excels at any job she performs at the hospital—whether she is asked to coax a sick patient to eat, help with surgery, or comfort a client. Mary’s versatility makes her invaluable, but her kind and gentle nature is what makes her so special. Mary and her husband, Ben, have 3 beautiful daughters, Raegan, Aubreigh and Ryann. They also share their home with 1 cat and 4 dogs.

KEYLEE WILSON

Keylee has been in the veterinary field since 2015 and employed at Monroe Animal Care Hospital since March 2020. When she is not working, she enjoys spending time with her family, husband, and friends. She loves to be outdoors hunting, fishing, or playing with her dogs. Keylee is currently enrolled at San Juan College pursuing a degree in Veterinary Technology to become a licensed Registered Veterinary Technician. She shares her home with her husband, Hunter, their 2 dogs, a Hound mix named Koda, a German Short-haired Pointer named Gus, and a cat named Sully.

ANJALIQUE POLANCO

Anjalique (Angie) is from Tampa, Florida and attended Hillsborough Community College. She is pursuing her love of animals through studying to be a Registered Veterinary Technician. Though she loves all animals, Angie has a particular fondness for German Shepherds and is a mother to 3: Shep, Milo, and Summit. She is interested in cars and enjoys reading.

To quote The Zookeeper's Wife, "And I think that's why I love animals so much; you look into their eyes and know exactly what's in their hearts."

NIA PERKINS

Nia grew up in Snellville, Georgia. She was dual enrolled at Louisiana State University and the University of Georgia and is currently a sophomore at the University of Georgia studying Biological Science, Pre-Vet. She has always had a strong love for animals (especially dogs) and hopes to help them in any way possible. In her free time, she enjoys hanging out with her friends, shopping, and spending time with her family. At home, Nia has two Havanese, Kobe and Mello.

When not at work, Jodi enjoys watching hockey, knitting, and visiting with family.

Clinic Cats

CAMILLE

Camille is our oldest resident hospital kitty and has been loved by us since 2009. She came to us in significant distress after being hit by a car. She had multiple life threatening  injuries.  One of her rear legs was broken so badly, it had to be removed. She now presides over the clinic with a gentle demeanor.

CALVIN

Calvin has been with us since he was a couple weeks old in 2015. He is full of energy and unfortunately (for him) is on a constant diet! He and Camille are best friends. We don't know what we would do without him! His antics and mischief make us smile all day long!
