Practice Manager

 

Laura Practice Manager

LAURA

 

Laura joined Monroe Animal Care Hospital in 2023 as the practice manager. Laura began her career in veterinary medicine in 1990 then went on to pursue human medicine in 2004. Her compassion and love for animals led her back to veterinary medicine in 2020. Laura grew up in Blairsville, GA on a small farm surrounded by horses, cows, goats, dogs, cats, and many other furry friends. After meeting her husband Andy in 1998 she moved to Monroe and started a family. Laura has three amazing children, Megan, Matthew and Mallory and is a proud Grandmother to Ellie, Ben, and Drew. Laura is a “Dog Mom” and has two handsome Labradors Obie and Otis. In her free time she enjoys traveling with her husband, spending time with family and watching her beloved Buffalo Bills. (Go Bills!)

MEGHAN DOUGLAS, RVT, FFCP (veterinary)

MEGHAN, LVT

 

Meghan joined our team in 2018. She is a Licensed Veterinary Technician, meaning she has a degree in Veterinary Technology and regularly completes continuing education courses. She is passionate about providing low-stress care to all of our patients. Some of her favorite skills include dentistry, radiography, and venipuncture. Meghan is proudly a cat lady first, and dog lover second. She lives with her husband, Branson, and her senior kitties, Cuddles and Snuggles. Outside of work, she enjoys both video and board games with friends and family. She serves her community by volunteering at spay/neuter clinics, both locally and abroad.

MARY

 

Mary joined the Monroe Animal Care team in 2003. Her love of animals made it clear she wanted to pursue a career in the animal field. After her many years of experience with us, Mary excels at any job she performs at the hospital—whether she is asked to coax a sick patient to eat, help with surgery, or comfort a client. Mary’s versatility makes her invaluable, but her kind and gentle nature is what makes her so special. Mary and her husband, Ben, have 3 beautiful daughters, Raegan, Aubreigh and Ryann. They also share their home with 1 cat and 4 dogs.

KEYLEE THOMAS, CVA, FFCP (veterinary)

Keylee has been in the veterinary field since 2015 and employed at Monroe Animal Care Hospital since March 2020. Keylee is currently enrolled at San Juan College pursuing a degree in Veterinary Technology to become a Licensed Veterinary Technician. She is passionate about providing low-stress care to all of our patients. When she is not working, she enjoys spending time with her family, husband, and friends. She loves to be outdoors hunting, fishing, or playing with her dogs. She shares her home with her husband, Hunter, their 2 dogs, a Hound mix named Koda and a German Short-haired Pointer named Gus, and their cats, Sully and Cheeto.

NIA PERKINS

NIA

 

Nia grew up in Snellville, Georgia and joined our practice in 2021. She was dual enrolled at Louisiana State University and the University of Georgia and is currently a senior at the University of Georgia studying Biological Science, Pre-Vet. She has always had a strong love for animals (especially dogs) and hopes to help them in any way possible. In her free time, she enjoys hanging out with her friends, shopping, and spending time with her family. At home, Nia has two Havanese, Kobe and Mello.

Desiree was born with a true passion for animals and we were proud to add her to our team in June 2022. She is always striving to further her education and experience so she may better assist her patients and clients.   Desiree proudly served 8 years in the Air Force and was glad to return to her home state of Georgia following her service.  She owns a Papillon mix named Kimchi whom she enjoys spending her free time with.

Sam joined Monroe Animal Care Hospital in 2023 and received her degree in Public Relations from the University of Georgia in 2021. Sam grew up in Winder, Georgia with an animal loving family, fostering her own passion for animals. Sam now lives in Monroe with her husband and daughter, as well as their two dogs, Maverick (Australian Shepherd) and Rocket (Beagle mix), and their two cats, Freddy and Frankie. In her free time, Sam enjoys shopping sprees with her daughter, spending time with friends and family, and playing ball with her pups.

SYDNEY

 

Sydney joined Monroe Animal Care Hospital in 2023 and is pursuing a degree in Veterinary Technology to become a Licensed Veterinary Technician. She is a native of Monroe, Georgia and has always had a love for animals both big and small. Sydney and her husband have one human baby, Cash, and three fur babies: Sadie, Bella, and Penny. When she’s not chasing the four of them around, Sydney enjoys being outdoors, fishing, thrifting, and antiquing.

Mallory is a current freshman at Georgia College and State University and joined us in the winter of 2022 when she was a senior at Loganville High School. She aspires to pursue veterinary school at the University of Georgia and continue fostering her passion for veterinary care.

JODI SULLIVAN, FFCP (veterinary)

JODI

 

Jodi grew in Tampa Bay, Florida.  She and her husband, Stephen, moved to Monroe in November 2004 and shortly thereafter, Jodi joined the Monroe Animal Care Hospital team. Her love for serving our clients and patients is apparent and she is always thinking of ways to enhance the clinic for both clients and patients.  Jodi loves all animals but is most certainly a ‘cat person’.  When not at work, Jodi enjoys sitting with her cats, watching TB Lightning hockey with her husband, knitting and visiting with family.

Jennifer, a Cincinnati, Ohio native moved to Georgia in 2018. She and her husband, Ben, now reside in Loganville. Jennifer has 2 children, Kamryn and Amanda from a previous marriage and 2 step-children, Chance and Addison. Her family shares their home with 7 cats and 2 dogs. In her free time, she enjoys travelling and going antique shopping.

Jennifer (Jen) joined Monroe Animal Care Hospital in 2020.  She is from Decatur, GA but now resides in Good Hope with her family.  Jen has always enjoyed the unconditional love of animals.  Her first pet was a turtle but now has a sweet lab named Jake.   Jennifer is married to Sean, and they have two boys, Jamison and Levi.  While not at work Jennifer enjoys the outdoors, small getaways, and homesteading with her family.

Julianna joined Monroe Animal Care Hospital in 2023 as a receptionist but can also be seen helping in the kennel. She is a Monroe native and loved growing up here. Julianna loves all animals both large and small. She has always had a passion for animals ever since she was a little girl. She is a graduate of Monroe Area High School and loved being a member of the marching and concert band. After graduation, she worked at the Humane Society of Morgan County and The Rescue Ranch from 2016-2019. In 2019, she took the title of jailer for Oglethorpe and Oconee County. However, she found herself following her true love of animals and joined MACH. In her spare time, she loves painting, baking, spending time with family, and of course, gaming. Julianna has a dog named Nala, and 4 cats; Oliver, Orion, Leo, and Bayley!

A current junior at Walnut Grove High School, Katie joined our team in the fall of 2023. She is pursuing her career ambition of becoming a large and small animal veterinarian who owns her own practice. She began her own small goat farm where she both breeds and shows her goats. Katie is an active 4-H and FFA member and placed in the top 30 at the 2023 FFA State Competition in the Veterinary Science Career Development Event. She is looking forward to gaining valuable veterinary experience at Monroe Animal Care Hospital.

REBECCA CALDWELL

REBECCA 

 

Rebecca joined Monroe Animal Care Hospital in September 2021.  She came to us with a lifelong passion for animals, especially dogs.  She enjoys spending her time outside of work volunteering with Pound Puppies and Kittens Rescue.  She fosters many dogs and especially loves working with the young puppies. Rebecca is Mom to two adult children and five dogs – Cooper, Oliver, Max, Sneakers & Phoebe.  Sneakers rides the roads traveling with Rebecca’s husband who is a professional truck driver while Phoebe is a certified service dog who attends college full-time with Rebecca’s daughter.

Deven joined our hospital in May 2023. She attends Fort Valley State University and will graduate with her Licensed Veterinary Technician degree in 2024.  After receiving her veterinary technology degree, she hopes to further her education and become a veterinarian. She shares her home with two dogs, Deja and Niko. Her favorite hobbies are training Niko and cooking.
